Japanese adore KARA’s butt dance

KARA, a five-member popular girl group in Korea, ranked 5th on the daily section of Japan's famous Oricon chart Wednesday with its debut song 'Mister'. Girls also ranked top among fifty newly released albums on the same day.

Their achievement is the second best debut records in Japan out of all our idol groups. The long-term goal is to rank in the weekly top 10 list.

Their popularity was proved during their first performance. The group had to be interrupted only three minutes after their performance started because of the overflow of fans. The performance took place in front of Tokyo Sibuya's shopping district '109' on Wednesday. It was a live performance celebrating KARA's debut in Japan and the release of their debut single 'Mister.'

After realizing some 3,000 fans had gathered to watch KARA, the organizers decided to stop the performance for safety reasons.

Even though there was no prior notice of KARA's appearance, the street became chaotic as soon as the five members showed up. Twenty guards stationed along the streets were far from enough, so additional officers from a nearby Shibuya station were mobilized, but made hardly any difference.

The show was originally to feature live performance and a talk show for 30 minutes. Due to the abrupt changes, they were only able to finish one song, “Mister.” KARA is to hold a fan signing event in Tokyo's Shinkiba Studio Coast on Aug. 14.

The girls have received a lot of attention in the past due to famous Japanese comedian Gekidan Hitori who is a fan of KARA.

카라가 일본 오리콘 데일리 차트 5위에 올라 현지 관계자들에게 놀라움을 안겼다.

지난 11일 오리콘차트에 따르면 카라는 데뷔 싱글 '미스터'로 5위에 올랐다. 이날 1위에 오른 후쿠야마 마사하루, 퍼퓸 외 쟁쟁한 스타들과 경쟁을 벌였다.

같은 날 발매된 싱글 50여개 앨범 가운데 신인 가수로서 카라가 가장 높은 순위에 랭크됐다.

카라의 데뷔 성적은 한국 아이돌 데뷔 성적 가운데 역대 2번째로 높은 것.

카라는 일본에서 성공적인 데뷔 신고식을 치르며 한류 걸그룹 열풍을 이을 전망이다. 카라 측은 데뷔 싱글 주간 TOP10 입성을 목표로 하고 있다.

한편, 카라가 이날 도쿄 시부야의 쇼핑몰 ‘109’빌딩 앞에서 일본 데뷔 기념 길거리 라이브공연을 개최했는데 관객쇄도로 3분만에 중단됐다고 현지언론이 12일 보도했다.

주최측은 카라의 공연 소식을 듣고 3000여명의 관객이 일시에 시부야 거리에 몰리면서 안전사고 위험이 크다고 판단해 중단했다고 밝혔다.

공연에 대한 사전고지가 없었는데도 멤버 5명이 등장하자 주변 차도까지 인파로 넘쳐 주최측이 배치한 경비원 20명 외에 시부야 경찰서까지 경관들을 충돌시켰지만 질서유지가 힘들었다.

이날 공연은 당초 라이브와 토크 등 30분 정도로 예정됐지만 일본 데뷔곡 ‘미스터’를 한 곡 부르는데 그쳤다. 카라는 오는 14일에는 도쿄 신키바(新木場) 스튜디오 코스트에서 팬사인회를 개최한다.
