Lucky men who married beautiful TV anchors

Listen

Young female anchors in South Korea are regarded as "the flower of the broadcasting company." They were chosen through fierce competition that measured their good looks, verbal communication ability and intellect.

Simply put, they are the number one candidates for marriage in South Korea.

The local Hankook Ilbo newspaper on Saturday did a rough roundup of survey, which looked at who are the lucky men who married these coveted women.

According to Hankook Ilbo, lawyers have continued to prove as a viable profession in this case. For instance, Choi Hyun-jung of MBC and Lee Hye-seung of SBS both married lawyers. The same goes with Cho Yun-kyung of KBS who married a judge in 2004.

Recently, however, investment bankers and financial analysts have dealt a strong blow to the lawyers' dominance in the game. Baek Seung-joo and Yoon Soo-young, both of KBS, married financiers last year. Kim Joo-ha and Choi Yun-young, two main "faces of MBC," married investment bankers. Kang Soo-jeong of KBS married a Harvard MBA graduate who also works in the financial field, it said.

Koh Min-jung of KBS was an exception to the rules, however, it said. In 2005, she married a poet, who was 11 years older than her.
