하이브나 SM엔터테인먼트와 같은 산업계 거물들은 이 기술 혁명에 전속력으로 뛰어들고 있지만, 음악 생산 과정에서 인공지능의 개입 증가는 논란과 함께 한다.
Bang Si-hyuk, the mastermind behind the Grammy-nominated boy band, BTS, and the chairman of Korea’s biggest-selling K-pop label, HYBE, recently revealed that artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a key factor for his operation and strategy.
그래미 수상 후보 남자그룹 방탄소년단의 창시자이자 가장 잘 팔리는 K팝 기획사 하이브 수장인 방시혁은 최근 인공지능이 자신의 활동 및 전략의 핵심 요인이 되고 있다고 밝혔다.
During an interview with the American magazine, Billboard, the 51-year-old said he has long wondered if human artists will remain as the only entities to produce music that caters to people’s needs and tastes.
미국 잡지 빌보드와의 인터뷰에서 이 51세 수장은 인간이 사람들의 필요와 취향에 맞는 음악 제작이 가능한 유일한 존재로 남을지 의문을 가진지 오래라고 전했다.
Bang is only one of many people who believe AI will reshape the future of the K-pop industry. He has been striving to incorporate the state-of-the-art AI technology into music, as evidenced by the launch of a project called “Midnatt” in May.
방시혁은 인공지능이 K팝 산업의 미래를 재형성할 거라고 믿는 많은 사람 중 한 명에 불과하다. 지난 5월 개시된 프로젝트 ‘미드낫’에서 보이듯 방시혁은 최신 기술을 음악에 접목시키려고 노력했다.
Midnatt, an alter ego of HYBE’s male singer Lee Hyun, rolled out the digital single, “Masquerade,” in Korean. However, thanks to the AI-powered pronunciation correction technology, the tune was available in six different languages, including English, Spanish and Vietnamese. It also featured the female voice of Lee, which was created through voice designing technology.
하이브 소속 남자 가수 이현의 또 다른 자아인 미드낫은 디지털 싱글 ‘마스커레이드’를 우리말로 출시했다. 그러나, 인공지능 기반의 발음 교정 기술 덕분에 해당 곡은 영어, 스페인어, 베트남어 등의 6개 언어로 제공된다. 또 목소리 제작 기술을 통해 이 곡에서 이현의 여자 목소리를 구현했다.
