JTBC axes 'Night of Hate Comments' featuring dead K-pop star Sulli

Cable network JTBC has decided to discontinue the star-studded talk show "Night of Hate Comments" following the death of one of its hosts, K-pop star Sulli.
JTBC는 설리의 사망에 따라 토크쇼 '악플의 밤'을 종영하기로 결정했다.
JTBC also decided not to air episodes recorded before her death.
JTBC는 또한 이미 촬영된 방영분을 방송하지 않기로 했다.
Sulli was found dead at her home on Oct. 14 in an apparent suicide.
설리는 지난 14일 극단적인 선택을 하며 자택에서 숨진 채 발견되었다.
The broadcaster has since put on hold the airing of the program, including the 17th and 18th episodes featuring her.
JTBC는 설리의 사망 이후, 설리가 출연한 17회와 18회 분의 방영을 연기해왔다.
"The program will end with the 16th episode, which was aired on Oct. 11," JTBC said. "After learning about the sad news of one of our 'Night of Hate Comments' main MCs and contemplating the production direction, we decided to discontinue the production of the program because we judged that the program could not continue in the absence of the deceased."
JTBC '악플의 밤' 측은 “지난 11일 방송된 16회를 마지막으로 종영된다. 대표 MC의 안타까운 비보를 접한 이후 제작방향에 대한 고민 끝에 고인의 부재 하에 프로그램을 지속할 수는 없다고 판단하여 프로그램 제작 중단을 결정했다”라며 종영 소식을 전했다.
"Night of Hate Comments," premiered in June, saw Sulli, comedian Shin Dong-yup, Kim Sook, singer Kim Jong-min and a celebrity guest face malicious comments and respond to them.
지난 6월 첫 방송을 시작한 JTBC '악플의 밤'은 설리, 신동엽, 김숙, 김종민과 연예인 게스트가 출연해 직접 악플을 읽고 응답하는 예능프로그램이었다.
On the show, Sulli shared her experience of facing online hate comments and how to cope with them.
설리는 '악플의 밤'에서 악성 댓글에 대한 그녀의 경험과 이에 대처하는 방법을 공유했다.
