U.S. President Donald Trump says he is open to negotiations with North Korea over its nuclear program.
”We’re going to see what happens with North Korea,” he told reporters at the White House on Friday (local time). “That’s all I can say. We're totally prepared for numerous things.
“If something can happen where we negotiate, I'm always open to that.
"But if it's going to be something other than negotiation, believe me we are ready, more so than we have ever been.”
The statement was a flip-flop from his position two weeks ago, when he called negotiations with North Korea a “waste of time” in a tweet that was dismissive of a remark by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
