A Korean-Chinese pastor who helped North Korean defectors, was stabbed to death in Jilin province, China, on Saturday, Chinese authorities say.
The pastor, identified only by his surname Han, was murdered near an execution ground in Changbai at 2 p.m., a source told Dong-A Ilbo. The body was moved to a hill.
“A man who appeared to be a North Korean customs official, killed the pastor and took away his belongings,” another source said.
Han had supported North Korean defectors in Changbai Korean Autonomous District since 1993.
Chinese authorities are investigating.
