N. Korea's execution sweep reignited

North Korea allegedly executed Jang Song-thaek’s another three confidants known to be in a movie business, Radio Free Asia said Wednesday.

The report said the victims were Choi Woong-chol, who is the executed former No.2 man’s nephew-in-law and a former actor, and actresses Kim Hae-kyong and Park Mi-hyang.

Kim was known as Jang’s favorite actress, and Park, a member of the state’s famed pop music girl group Moranbong Orchestra, was a nephew of one of Jang’s close allies.

The report said all three were executed in charge of being anarchic. It added the state ordered to recall all the movies where any of the three appeared.

Regarding the recent execution allegation, Asia Press International said the “second execution sweep” has begun.
