North Korean leader Kim Jong-un stressed the importance of reading and learning nationwide, saying that he himself is immersed in the newest technology journals, a North Korean newspaper Rodong Shinmun reported Monday.
In an editorial on Saturday, the newspaper said Kim is trying to get versed in various subjects such as science technology and common sense.
Dissertations of his father and his grandfather’s are on his reading list, it added.
“He is making the time devoted to reading amongst the busiest schedules of governing the nation, and so should everybody else,” the paper said.
According to a source, Kim trusts books rather than reports he get from the top government officials.
He said, ”Old information cannot meet the need of the fast-paced present. To keep up, top officials as well as all people should prepare themselves.”
Information technology, economy, trade, and international relations are all of his priorities, according to the paper.
