Korea will provide $1 million in humanitarian aid to Colombia to help the country recover from a recent deadly earthquake, Seoul's foreign ministry said Wednesday.

"We hope this aid will help the country's recovery efforts and ensure a swift return to normalcy for its people," the ministry said, adding the donation will be delivered through an international organization operating in Columbia.

The South American country was hit by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake earlier this week that has killed over 200 people.
