Senior ruling party lawmaker attends new Bolivian president's inauguration

A senior lawmaker from the ruling Democratic Party (DP) has attended the inauguration of Bolivia's new President Rodrigo Paz and conveyed Seoul's hope to further strengthen bilateral ties, the foreign ministry said Sunday.

Rep. Han Jun-ho, a member of the party's supreme council, attended the ceremony in La Paz on Saturday (local time) as President Lee Jae Myung's special envoy, the ministry said.

Han separately met with the Bolivian president and conveyed Lee's congratulations and expressed hope for stronger cooperation on the occasion of the 60th anniversary this year of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Paz emphasized his administration's focus on pragmatism and openness, and called for increased South Korean investment and future bilateral collaboration, the ministry said.
