The Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Seoul unveiled the logo design for the 50th anniversary of Korea-Singapore diplomatic relations, Monday. This logo was selected through a design competition, co-organized with the Korean Embassy in Singapore, marking a milestone in the warm and multifaceted relations between the two nations.

The design, crafted by a team of students from the Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts), creatively integrates symbolic elements and colors inspired by the national flags of Korea and Singapore.

The design features the number 50 prominently, representing the five decades of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. It will serve as the official emblem for all Korea-Singapore 50th anniversary events throughout 2025.

The logo emerged from a two-month collaborative workshop involving students from K-Arts and Singapore’s Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), sister institutions known for their excellence in arts education. During the workshop, students participated in cultural exchanges and collaborative brainstorming sessions, fostering deeper understanding and camaraderie.

Entries from the workshop were evaluated by a panel comprising design experts, cultural officials and representatives from both nations’ foreign ministries and embassies.

“On behalf of the Singapore Embassy in Seoul, let me convey my heartfelt appreciation to the students from NAFA and K-Arts for their creative and inspiring designs,” Singapore Ambassador to Korea Eric Teo said. “All of them are winners in their own right. We hope that all the students have enjoyed the process and deepened their understanding of the various aspects of each other’s countries.”

Korea and Singapore established diplomatic relations on Aug. 8, 1975, and have since cultivated a close partnership across various sectors, including trade, culture and technology. In 2025, both nations aim to elevate their relationship to a strategic partnership, emphasizing deeper cooperation.

Commemorative activities planned for the year include high-level exchanges and public events to showcase the rich cultural and historical connections between the two countries. The Singapore Embassy will share updates on these initiatives through its social media channels and other platforms.

As Korea and Singapore celebrate five decades of friendship, officials from both nations expressed optimism about the future.

“ Singapore and the ROK are like-minded and natural partners. We can be proud of the achievements arising from our close bilateral relations over the last 50 years,” Teo said. “There is much to look forward to in the next 50 years and beyond.”
