Acting president receives credentials of 9 new ambassadors to Korea

Acting President Choi Sang-mok received Tuesday the credentials from the new ambassadors of nine countries, including China and Cuba, the foreign ministry said.

The ambassadors include Dai Bing of China, Claudio Monzon Baeza of Cuba, Antonio de Sa Benevides of East Timor, Paul Sobba Massaquoi of Sierra Leone, Patricio Esteban Troya Suarez of Ecuador, Diego Manuel Villanueva Martinelli of Panama, Landry Mboumba of Gabon, Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe of Nepal and Loukas Tsokos of Greece.

Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul accompanied Choi in the presentation ceremony.

New ambassadors typically present copies of their credentials to the foreign ministry of the host country before formally presenting them to the head of state, in order to assume their roles. (Yonhap)
