Top diplomats from South Korea and Japan shared the view on Wednesday that current bilateral ties should continue in the face of political chaos triggered by President Yoon Suk Yeol's brief imposition of martial law.
During a phone call, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya also said the cooperation among South Korea, the United States and Japan is very important, given North Korean and other geopolitical issues, according to Seoul's foreign ministry.
In particular, Minister Cho stressed that South Korea will continue its foreign diplomacy in a consistent manner while maintaining the current relations with Japan, the ministry said. (Yonhap)
