Korea's top envoy to China, Chung Jae-ho, will hold a farewell ceremony on Dec. 10 marking the end of his tenure after two years and four months, the embassy said Friday.

Chung, the first Korean Ambassador to China under President Yoon Suk Yeol, will be succeeded by Kim Dae-ki, Yoon's former chief presidential secretary.

Kim, named as the next ambassador last month, has reportedly received diplomatic approval from the Chinese government and is expected to assume the post late next month, according to embassy officials.

The exact date of Chung's departure has not yet been confirmed, they noted. (Yonhap)
