Korea will provide an additional $8 million worth of humanitarian aid to help civilian victims in the war between Israel and the Hamas militant group, the foreign ministry said Tuesday.

The provision follows the $2 million worth of aid Korea had pledged to provide in October last year in the wake of the conflict.

The aid will be delivered through international organizations, and the government will ensure the resources properly and transparently reach those in need for humanitarian purposes, the ministry said.

Since the outbreak of the conflict, about 25,300 people from both sides have been killed, with more than 69,000 wounded. (Yonhap)
