President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday sent a telegram to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressing his condolences over the recent series of deadly earthquakes in western Japan, his office said.
A magnitude 7.6 earthquake hit Ishikawa prefecture on New Year's Day and was followed by a series of aftershocks that have left at least 30 people killed, according to reports.
In his message, Yoon offered his condolences to the victims and their families, and expressed solidarity with Japan in overcoming the damage, according to his office.
Yoon also offered Korea's help with recovery efforts and wished a speedy return to everyday life for residents of the affected areas. (Yonhap)
