The Korea Times to host 2nd Global Business Club with Vietnam

The Korea Times will host the second Global Business Club in Seoul, Monday, together with the Vietnamese Embassy to stimulate bilateral exchanges between the countries.

The exclusive business club-style event was designed to galvanize communications with decision-makers outside Korea. Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Nguyen Vu Tung and the news outlet's President-Publisher Oh Young-jin, who is also a veteran reporter, will front the meeting at Korea Press Foundation's headquarters in central Seoul.

Alongside the ambassador, Pham Viet Tuan and Pham Khac Tuyen, first secretaries from the embassy, will also give presentations about the overall relationship between the two nations. Vietnam's economic and investment climate as well as bilateral trade and industry partnership are other major topics to be covered for participants.

Former Ambassador of Korea to Vietnam Lee Hyuk also joins the 90-minute event as the moderator, whose past experience will provide another perspective on the past, present and future of the two nations that share a long diplomatic history.

The Korea Times Global Business Club is a fresh initiative by the English daily with the longest history in Korea to highlight countries with high business exchange potentials with Korea through formats of presentation, Q and A and live debate.

With individual events dedicated to each nation, the meetings discuss trade, current affairs and key bilateral flashpoints, as well as how the past and present bode for companies, investors and stakeholders with interest in the two countries.

The upcoming event is preceded by the business club's premiere edition from last February when the inaugural event saw Indonesian Ambassador to Korea Gandi Sulistiyanto. The event was held under the theme “Korean Business Opportunities in Indonesia.”
