The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) is participating in NextRise 2022, a global startup fair, at Coex in southern Seoul, June 16-17.
Organized by the Korea Development Bank (KDB) in collaboration with Korea International Trade Association (KITA), NextRise is the largest startup fair in Asia attracting some 12,000 visitors last year.
The center runs a booth promoting promising startups from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and provides information on startup ecosystems in the region. It will also organize 1 on 1 business meetings to forge new business partnerships.
About 20 ASEAN startups, recommended by each country, in various fields such as artificial intelligence, e-commerce, fintech, agricultural machinery service platforms and logistics and transport platforms will take part in NextRise 2022. The AKC offers startup support programs and shares funding information and incentives for startups in Korea and the ASEAN member states.
The AKC has been hosting its annual ASEAN-Korea Startup Week since 2018 and last year's pitching contest winner Jalat Logistics from Cambodia will attend NextRise to introduce its Internet of things (IoT)-based logistics platform business model to Korean investors. The Phnom Penh-based last mile logistics company provides affordable same-day delivery through an eco-friendly business model.
