Industrial machinery and high-tech components manufacturer LS Mtron has expanded co-operation with Uzbek agricultural machine company UZAgroTechMash (UZ ATM).

Since 2013, when the Korean firm signed a contract with UZ ATM’s affiliate ASI to transfer tractor cabin development technology, the two have become “win-win” business partners in modernizing Uzbekistan’s farm machinery, according to LS Mtron said.

“We feel responsible and also proud of being recognized for our technology by Uzbekistan, which has a strong agricultural industry,” LS Mtron CEO Andy Kim said. “We will continue to solidify our position as a trusted brand in Uzbekistan.”

The Korean company said it had contributed to agricultural development in Uzbekistan.

LS Mtron and ASI have developed a high-clearance tractor to harvest cotton, and have produced about 1,500 since the project began in 2013. Components production has been localized successfully.

During a meeting between UZ ATM, ASI and LS Mtron in Korea in May, UZ ATM Chairman Saidabbos Saydamiov and the LS Mtron CEO discussed various business opportunities.

Kim and executives are expected visit to Uzbekistan next month at the invitation of Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Nodir Otajonov, and make concrete plans for what was discussed at the May meeting, LS Mtron said.
