The Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ICCK) has elected Vasudev Tumbe, vice president and CFO of Ssangyong Motor, as its new chairman.

According to the ICCK, Tumbe took over the post held by Dilip Sundaram, president of Mahindra Korea, on July 21.

The new chairman worked with Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd for over 30 years and was vice president, finance and accounts, of the automotive division before coming to Korea in 2013 to work for Ssangyong Motor.

“India is one of the most promising markets in the world and with the current government’s policies and reforms, like the goods and services tax (GST), the Indian economy is poised for sustained growth,” Tumbe said.

“The timing could not be better for Korean businesses to go to India and I can see ICCK can play a significant role in enhancing India-Korea trade.”
