28 Korean students get Indonesian scholarships

The Indonesian government has awarded 28 Korean students one-year scholarships.

The Embassy of Indonesia said those selected will study Indonesian language at universities in cities including Jakarta, Bandung and Malang from Aug. 29.

“Apart from the scholarship program, Koreans have visited the embassy nearly every day to find out about education in Indonesia,” third secretary Anggun said.

The embassy organized a briefing session early this month to give information about Indonesia’s culture, society and economy.

One of the students said the reason for choosing to study Indonesian was because of the country’s potential to grow as an economic powerhouse.
