Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science Sofie Carsten Nielsen participated in the ‘Korean-Danish e-Learning Seminar’ held at Hanyang Cyber University on Jan. 20.
Danish Ambassador Thomas Lehmann, Senior Vice President Han Ho Hyeorn of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), Chairman Im Jae Hwan of the Korea e-Learning Industry Association (KeLIA), and leading companies and universities in the e-learning sector also joined the seminar.
During her welcoming speech the Minister emphasized the importance of innovation in education, saying that Korea and Denmark are partaking in revolutionising education by incorporating digital media into the teaching process to increase learning efficiency.
Prior to this, the miniser participated in the Korean-Danish e-Learning Seminar held at Hanyang Cyber University on Jan. 20.

Prior to that, the Danish minister, attended an event featuring Danish fur products at Seoul National University (SNU) on Tuesday. The Embassy of Denmark in Seoul said that the event was organized by the embassy, in collaboration with SNU, Merchandising and Fashion Design, Korpenhargen Fur. It was the result of industry-university collaboration in fur fashion design between the two countries on the sidelines of the Danish minister’s Seoul visit, the embassy said in a press release.
Minister Nielsen had a four day visit to Korea starting from Jan. 18 to expand Denmark’s relations with Korea in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and education.
She led the Danish delegation consisting of representatives of companies in the e-learning and sound technology sectors and universities.
The Future Fur event was comprised of an exhibition featuring the fur design techniques developed by Koipenhagen Fur and a runway show designed by the students.
It took place a year after Kopenhagen Fur, the world’s biggest fur auction house, and SNU signed an agreement for cooperation last March.
The two sides have co-hosted fur design lectures and other events as part of their efforts to expand their collaboration.
