Listen

The Slovak Embassy on Thursday released brochures promoting spa tourism in the central European nation.

“Slovakia Spa & Wellbeing” includes information on nearly 20 spa resorts in Slovakia and features on each. Slovak Ambassador Dusan Bella said, “what makes Slovakian spas special and unique is a great variety of different water springs and mud compositions that can be used for treating an extensive number of medical problems at very good value for money. ” during a presentation held at the embassy.

Slovakia has numerous mineral springs and spas. According to Slovak government statistics, in 2007 alone, more than 276,000 people visited Slovak spas, with almost 40 percent from outside the country.

The ambassador said Slovakia is, compared to neighboring countries, little known to Koreans.

Annually, about 3,000 Koreans visit Slovakia as part of a wider European trip.
