Korea, Philippines to discuss extraditing criminals

Korea and the Philippines will hold a regular consular meeting this week to discuss extraditing criminals wanted by either side, a Seoul official said Tuesday.

The two nations will hold their second meeting of consular affairs in the Philippines on Wednesday and will discuss outstanding consular issues, including ways to protect the rights and interests of their nationals in each other's country.

The two sides will also discuss ways to broaden people-to-people exchanges, foreign ministry spokesman Cho Tai-young told reporters.

"During the meeting, we will ask the Philippines to pay special attention to the safety of our nationals," Cho said. (Yonhap)
