Two North Korean fishermen, who were rescued Sunday while drifting in South Korean waters, were repatriated by land on Wednesday.
They were handed over to the North at 2 p.m. through the truce village of Panmunjeom, Lee Jong-joo, deputy spokesman of the Ministry of Unification said.
The men, who were found about 48 kilometers northeast of Dokdo Islets in the East Sea, wished to go back home, according to the ministry.
