Italian Film Series

The Italian Culture Institute opens the 2008 Italian cinema season with six contemporary movies beginning today through Feb. 29 at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Seoul.

The movies to screen are Le Conseguenze Dell Amore (the Consequences of Love) by Paolo Sorrentino on Feb. 18, Respiro (Breath) by Emanuele Crialese on Feb. 20, Mio Cognato (My Brother in Law) by Alessandro Piva on Feb. 22, Lezioni Di Volo (Learning to Fly) by Francesca Archibugi on Feb. 25, Non Ti Muovere (Don't Move) by Sergio Castellitto on Feb. 27; and Quovadis, Baby? (Quo Vadis, Baby?) by Gabriele Salvatores on Feb. 29.

Australian Exhibition

The Australian Embassy in Seoul will hold a print exhibition at the Goyang Oulim Nuri Arts Complex in Gyeonggi Province from Feb. 20 through March 7.

The exhibition, titled ``Gelam Nguzu Kazi ― Dugong My Son,'' will feature 33 works. The title of the exhibition is taken from the legend of Gelam and his mother, Usher.

Artists participating in the exhibition, including Dennis Nona, Victor Motlop, David Bosun and Billy Missi, pioneered the unique ``linocuts'' style to tell history and stories of Mua Island in contemporary form.

Motlop will visit Korea to open the event. Also, there will be a photo exhibition running in parallel to the exhibition on the environment, culture and people of Kubin Village on Mua Island.
