Turkish Film Week

Turkish Film Week: The Turkish Embassy in Seoul is presenting five Turkish films from Monday through Friday at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Sunwha-dong, Seoul.

Featured films are ``Distant (Uzak),''``Boats out of Watermelon Rinds (Karpuz Kabugundan Gemiler Yapmak),'' ``Officer Shakespeare (Komser Sekspir),'' ``Summer Love (O Da Beni Seviyor)'' and ``Tales of Intransigence (Inat Hikayeleri).'' ``Distant (Uzak)'' was a Cannes Film Festival winning piece in 2003.

Admission is free, and the shows begin at 7 p.m. except on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Polish Photo Exhition

Polish Photo Exhibition: The Polish Embassy is presenting a photo exhibition ``Way to Freedom: from Solidarity to Europe,'' from Sept. 10 to 29 in Gallery Areum, Korea Foundation Cultural Center.

A total of 56 photographs will be presented; also a short video of three to five minutes will explain each group of photographs.

The photographs portray the struggles of Poland to regain its freedom from the communist regime and the consequences it had on other European nations of the Eastern bloc.
