A delegation of the European Parliament will arrive in Seoul Tuesday following their three-day trip to Pyongyang where they met with ranking North Korean officials, including the communist nation's ceremonial head ofstate Kim Yong-nam, the European Union's diplomatic mission here said Monday.
"The European Parliament delegation will meet with Lee Sang-duck, the National Assembly vice speaker, before meeting with members of the EU-Korea Inter-Parliamentary Council," the mission said in a press release.
The delegation, led by Hubert Pirker, an Austrian parliament member, began its trip to the North Korean capital Saturday, where they met with the North's titular head of state and other "senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade," the statement said.
The delegates, members of the parliament's Delegation for Relations with the Korean Peninsula, will meet with Unification Minister Lee Jae-jeong and Vice Foreign Minister Cho Jung-pyo while here, according to the statement.
