Netflix on Tuesday confirmed production of a second season of its reality dating show “Better Late Than Single,” which helps lifelong singles experience their first romance.
The announcement came with the start of casting for new participants.
The series, described as a makeover-style dating reality program, follows people who have never dated as they take their first steps into love. Season 1 resonated with audiences as participants navigated relationships at their own pace, drawing wide support and empathy from viewers.
Upon release, the show entered Netflix’s Global Top 10 in the non-English TV category and became a frequent topic of online discussion.
Expectations for a second season had been high. “If given the chance, I would gratefully produce another season," producing director Kim Noh-eun said in a recent interview. Fellow producer Won Seung-jae added, “We know the positive response came from the show’s sincerity, and if we make Season 2, we plan to focus on that.”
Kim, who will return as director, said, “Thanks to the encouragement and empathy from viewers for the cast members’ awkward attempts at love, we are moving ahead with Season 2. We are looking forward to applications from singles in their 20s and 30s who want to change themselves and bravely take on their first romance.”
Casting officially began the same day. Show hosts — Seo In-guk, Kang Han-na, Lee Eun-ji and Car, the Garden — directly called for applications. Car, the Garden drew attention with his playful reaction. “I really loved it, ‘Better Late Than Single,'" he said.
Singles in their 20s and 30s with no dating experience are eligible to apply. More details are available on Netflix Korea’s official social media accounts.
