Actors Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong will co-star in the new Netflix original series, “Lee Duna!” (direct translation).

The streaming platform announced, Monday, that the two actors have confirmed the leads in the upcoming series, led by celebrated director Lee Jung-hyo, whose previous works include the hit series, “Crash Landing on You,” and the drama series, “The Good Wife.”

“Through 'Lee Duna!' director Lee Jung-hyo will present a heart-flattering, yet unfamiliar romance which people in their early 20s experience,” the platform said in the statement.

The new romance series, based on the webcomic “The Girl Downstairs” by Min Song-ah, follows an ex-celebrity living with ordinary college students at a share house.

Bae will play the title role, former K-pop star Lee Du-na. She used to be enormously popular, serving as the main vocalist of her K-pop group. Then, she suddenly announces her retirement from music and moves into a share house.

Yang will play the character of Lee Won-joon, who is a run-of-the-mill, average college student. His kindhearted, generous spirit draws Du-na's interest, leading the two very unlikely people to grow close to each other.

The series is scripted by the newcomer Jang Yoo-ha.
