From Song Hye-kyo to Kim Soo-hyun, big stars to lead small screen in November

Big-name actors like Song Hye-kyo, Im Soo-jung, Han Hyo-joo, and Kim Soo-hyun are set to star in various upcoming series, scheduled to kick off in November.
Actresses Song and Im are returning to the small screen with two romance series: “Now, We Are Breaking Up” for Song and “Melancholia” for Im.
SBS's new melodrama, “Now, We Are Breaking Up,” which will go on air Nov. 12, will follow a woman in her 30s, Young-eun (Song), who is a design team manager at a fashion company. She is self-disciplined and a realist, who is also good at her job.
When she meets freelancer fashion photographer Jae-gook (Jang Ki-yong), who has both good looks and brains, romance blossoms between the two.
The series will be directed by Lee Gil-bok, who led various hit series, like the romantic comedy, “My Love From the Star,” and the medical drama, “Dr. Romantic.” It is written by Je-in, who is the writer of the suspense romance series, “Misty.”
Im's new tvN series, “Melancholia,” is set to start on Nov. 3. The romance drama will revolve around math teacher Yoon-soo (Im), who teaches at a prestigious private high school, and a math genius, Seung-yoo (Lee Do-hyun), who is her former student.
The two reunite four years after they met as a teacher and student and become involved with each other through their common interest in mathematics.
The series is directed by Kim Sang-hyeop, who led the teen series, “True Beauty” and “Extraordinary You,” and is written by Kim Ji-un, who wrote the romance series, “Hyde Jekyll, Me.”

Actors Han and Kim are each gearing up for their respective upcoming thriller series, "Happiness” and “One Ordinary Day.”
TvN's apocalyptic thriller, “Happiness,” which will air on Nov. 5, will star Han, Park Hyung-sik, and Jo Woo-jin.
Set in the pandemic-hit future, the series explores the story of residents living in a new high-rise building where there are two different classes split between the upper and lower levels.
In the locked-down building due to the pandemic, special squad police officer Sae-bom (Han), detective Yi-hyun (Park) and lieutenant Tae-seok (Jo) team up to protect the fear-stricken residents who struggle to survive amid distrust for one another.
The series is directed by Ahn Gill-ho, who led the smash-hit series, “Stranger,” and the romance series, “Record of Youth,” while it is written by Han Sang-un, whose previous works include the thriller series, “Watcher.”
Streaming service Coupang Play's new original series, “One Ordinary Day,” is finally coming out in November, the streaming site announced earlier this month without unveiling the exact date of the release.
Directed by Lee Myung-woo, who led SBS's hit series, “The Fiery Priest,” the thriller crime series will follow student Hyun-soo (Kim), who mistakenly becomes a murder suspect overnight, and lawyer Joong-han (Cha Seung-won). When Hyun-soo is jailed and falls into a bottomless pit, a third-rate lawyer reaches out to him for help.
The series is a Korean adaptation of the U.K. television series, "Criminal Justice.”
