Seohyun, an actress and member of K-pop act Girls Generation, will star in a new Netflix movie tentatively titled “Moral Sense.”

This is the first time that she has taken a lead role in a film, her management company Namoo Actors said Monday.

In “Moral Sense,” Seohyun is set to play Jung Ji-woo, who develops a romantic relationship with her co-worker after accidentally learning about his “secret taste.” Actor Lee Jun-young, a member of K-pop boy band U-KISS, will play opposite her.

“Seohyun has broadened her acting spectrum by venturing into different genres and roles,” Namoo Actors said in a statement. “Through 'Moral Sense,' she will again showcase her unexplored side.”

But the release date of “Moral Sense” ― which is based on the namesake web comic by Winter ― is being kept under wraps.

This is not the first time for Seohyun to make an appearance on Netflix. The star was also featured in the TV series, “Private Lives” (2020) and “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” (2016), which are currently available on the global platform.

Seohyun, whose real name is Seo Ju-hyun, debuted as a member of Girls Generation in 2007 with the album, “Into The New World.” The SM Entertainment girl group dropped a string of hits including “Gee” (2009) and “Run Devil Run” (2010). In 2014, member Jessica quit the act and in 2017, three members ― Seohyun, Tiffany and Sooyoung ― did not renew their contracts with SM. But the group did not break up.

Seohyun made her small screen debut in 2014 with the SBS soap opera, “Passionate Love,“ and has since appeared in several works including the MBC drama, “Bad Thief Good Thief” (2017).
