Actor and singer Cha Hak-yeon of K-pop group VIXX, better known by his stage name N, is making his small-screen return in tvN's upcoming series “Mine” after completing his mandatory military service.

The actor's agency 51k broke the news Friday, saying “Cha has accepted a role in tvN's series Mine, and will be working with actress Lee Bo-young and Kim Seo-hyung.”

This will be Cha's first TV series in two years since he appeared in “Children of Nobody” before enlisting in the military in March 2019. He was discharged last October.

The series will revolve around two women who married into a wealthy family ― former actress Suh Hee-soo (Lee) and heiress Jung Seo-hyung (Kim) ― fighting against prejudices to find their own identities. The drama was written by Baek Mi-kyung, who is known for the TV series “Strong Girl Bong-soon” and “The Lady in Dignity,” and will be directed by Lee Na-jeong whose work includes Netflix's “Love Alarm.”

Cha will play Seo-hyung's son Han Soo-hyuk, who returns home after studying abroad.

“I feel really honored to work on this series with such a great cast and crew for my first project after completing my military duty,” the actor said through the agency.

“Mine” is set to air in the first half of this year.

Cha debuted as a leader of the five-member band VIXX in 2012. The group has released several hit songs such as “Hyde” (2013) and “The Closer” (2016).

He began acting with a minor role in the TV series “Hotel King,” and has appeared in various other shows, including OCN's “Tunnel” and tvN's “Familiar Wife” (2018).
