'Sapiens' author to appear on MBC's 'DocuFlex'

Yuval Noah Harari, author of the international best-seller “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind,” will answer questions about the COVID-19 pandemic on MBC's “DocuFlex” Thursday.

Singer-songwriter Chang Ki-ha, actress Lee Si-young and Yoo Hyun-joon, a professor of architecture at Hongik University, will ask the Israeli historian a diverse range of questions linked to the global health crisis.

According to MBC, Chang asked him questions such as how long, if ever, it will take before musicians like himself can perform in front of big crowds again.

“Harari will also share his analysis on several other issues facing mankind such as artificial intelligence,” the network said in a statement Wednesday.

Harari is a professor in the Department of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his writings delve into the topics of free will, consciousness, intelligence, happiness and suffering. He sold 10 million copies of “Sapiens” (2011) around the world thanks to his interesting insights that connect the past and future. He has published numerous books, including “Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow” (2015).

“DocuFlex” is set to go to air at 9 p.m. (KST).
