TvN's new series “Record of Youth,” starring heartthrob Park Bo-gum and “Parasite” actress Park So-dam, is off to a good start with 6.4 percent viewership rating.
On Tuesday, the network released the show's nationwide rating, which was especially high in the greater Seoul area (7.8 percent).
The series scored the third-highest premiere rating of the network, following actor Park's previous series “Encounter” and the second season of the hit drama “Stranger.”
Directed by Ahn Gil-ho, the producer of “Stranger,” the story revolves around model Sa Hye-jun (Park Bo-gum) and makeup artist An Jeong-ha (Park So-dam) striving to achieve their goals under tough circumstances.
The first episode showed Hye-jun struggling to transition from his modeling career into acting, failing to make an impression at auditions. He faces another setback when he finds out his agency has ripped him off.
Even his family disapproves of his “unrealistic” ambitions, trying to convince him to face reality. His life starts to change after he encounters Jung-ha, a long-time fan, for a fashion show.
The series has long been anticipated because it was to be the last work for actor Park before his mandatory military service, which started on Aug. 31.
“Record of Youth” is also available on Netflix.
