Celebrity couple's house woes anger some viewers

Monday's episode of SBS's “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You are My Destiny” aired the struggles of Yoon Sang-hyun and Maybee over the shoddy construction of their house ― and it angered some viewers.

The episode showed the celebrity couple cleaning up water that had leaked into the house during the rainy season and problems with the poorly constructed sewerage system.

Previously, the program showed the couple's worries about cracked walls and their three children enduring temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius because the air-conditioner was not working.

As the couple designed the house, many viewers lamented the shoddy construction and shared their experiences to raise awareness.

One netizen said: “I saved a lot building my own house but whenever it rained or snowed, even when it was a newly constructed house, some problems occurred. I had to spend time and money to repair it.”

Others wrote: “Never build your own house if you don't have any knowledge of architecture. Many do not construct as the blueprint says. Only do it when you have someone you can fully trust.”

Meanwhile, the company in charge of the construction denied on local media that the couple had demanded a huge amount of money to repair the house. It also said the couple did not pay the promised amount for construction in full and it will take legal action.
