TV personality Kim Na-young: “I am panicked, distressed.” Yonhap
By Dong Sun-hwa
TV personality Kim Na-young apologized on Friday for an alleged financial fraud involving her husband.
Kim's husband was accused on Nov. 13, along with his 12 colleagues, of running an unauthorized futures investment company and pocketing about 22.3 billion won ($19.69 million) through a gambling-like bidding system, in violation of the nation's laws on capital market and financial investment.
An estimated 1,063 people were victims of the alleged fraud, according to police.
“I could not even imagine that my husband was involved in such a bad incident” Kim wrote in a statement. “I am panicked and distressed as well.”
Kim said her husband would “pay the price” for his wrongdoing and she would play her part in paying compensation.
Kim and her husband, who married in 2015, have two sons.
