Hyolin from K-pop girl band SISTAR will perform at global music festival “South by Southwest (SXSW)” in the U.S.
SXSW said on its website Wednesday that the K-pop star is among the lineup for this year’s festival in March in Austin, Texas.
SXSW highlighted Hyolin’s performances at home and abroad, citing her show at Ultra Singapore 2016 and collaborations with Far East Movement and composer Giorgio Moroder. It also described her as the “Korean Beyonce.”
“We are so honored to have such a great opportunity,” an official of Hyolin’s agency, Starship Entertainment, said.
“Hyolin will do her best to promote K-pop at the festival.”
The SXSW Music Festival, founded in 1987 in Austin, is one of the largest and most influential music industry events. It also features films, interactive media and conferences.
This year’s festival will run from Mar. 10 to 19.
