Actors Song Joong-ki and Park Bo-gum have pledged “strong legal action” against rumormongers amid allegations the two were with K-pop star Park Yu-chun when he allegedly raped a woman in a luxury bar’s restroom early last month.

Blossom Entertainment, representing the two, said the allegations were groundless and it would take legal action against those responsible for spreading the rumors.

The case in question is the alleged rape of a barmaid by the K-pop singer late on June 4. Police questioned him on Thursday over this and three other alleged rape cases.

The agency said Song was attending a wrap party for KBS TV drama “Descendants of the Sun,” in which he played a leading role, at the time of singer Park’s alleged offence. At the same time, fans saw actor Park in a different location, the agency said.

“We will no longer turn a blind eye to the rumors,” the agency said. “We will not only request a police investigation to find the person who started the rumor but also take legal action against people who spread it.”

Meanwhile, police released singer Park at 2 a.m. Friday after eight hours of questioning over the alleged rapes.

Police reportedly collected Park's DNA through mouth swabs to determine whether it matches the DNA of sperm found on the underwear submitted by the first alleged victim.

Since early last month, the singer has been embroiled in a nationwide scandal. Four women have claimed he raped them in a bar’s restroom or at his house. Park has vehemently denied any involvement.
