Top comedian denies 'sugar daddy' rumors over K-pop diva

Top comedian Shin Dong-yeop has denied rumors he gave a luxury car to K-pop girl band AOA’s Seolhyun.

He made public his denial during the May 25 episode of “Brave Reporters 2,” aired on E channel. One of the program’s guests asked the married comedian about the rumors.

“When the rumor was spread, I and Seolhyun were working together as MCs for an award ceremony,” Shin said. “I laughed aloud at the rumor. However, I soon felt sorry for her when I saw Seolhyun in person.”

Rumors had it that the AOA member, who is famous for her baby face and curvaceous body, drove a luxury car that is more expensive than that of her agency’s CEO, and the vehicle was a gift from Shin.

Shin is one of the most popular comedians in Korea. He married an MBC TV director in 2006 and now has two children.
