On May 9, K-pop boy band N-SONIC “vanished” after returning from their Japan concert the day before. With their agency unable to reach them and fans asking online where they were, the mystery deepened.
And it took another turn Wednesday when the six-member band’s leader, J.Heart, broke the silence. He posted a statement on
apologizing to fans for the mystery. He began mandatory military service the next day, according to Herald POP.
“It hurts to apologize for the commotion as I am about to leave you for two years,” J.Heart said. “I sincerely apologize to the fans from here and outside Korea who came for our fan meeting. At this point, I cannot tell in detail what made us disappear. Please keep cheering and loving my other members.”
As to the band’s future, he said: “If it is the end, it would be the end. If it is the start, it would be our new start.”
On Monday, J.Heart posted on his SNS site a tribute video clip made by the band’s fans. The star said in the post: “Thank you for making me cry.” The post had about 130 comments, most of which were by fans worried about him.
“I was emotionally touched by the video that I posted on Monday,” J.Heart said on his Wednesday post. “The fact that I was watching the video at home alone made me very sorry for my fans.”
C2K Entertainment, the band’s agency, said on Monday it had lost contact with all the band’s members.
“After they held a two-day concert in Japan on May 7-8, they vanished on May 9,” the agency said. “After we failed to reach them on all communication methods, we cancelled their schedules with cable network K Star and China’s HRTV, as well as fan meetings.”
The band debuted in 2011 with mini-dance music album “We Are Superboys.”
