Singer Mina may become the first sexy Korean celebrity in her 40s who mentions egg freezing to actually do it.
The star, 44, who dates singer Philip Ryu, hinted at her wish to have his baby by mentioning egg freezing in
a talk show on TV Chosun on Wednesday
. Ryu, 26, is doing mandatory military service and is due for discharge next May.
“I heard about egg freezing,” Mina said. “I might have to consider that.” She was apparently worried about her age because she was looking at becoming pregnant.
“My younger sister recently gave birth and I found the baby so cute,” Mina said. “I guess the feeling is a sign that I should get married soon.”
Mina spoke openly on the show. She said she decorated her home herself after a businessman almost swindled her. A living room, a master bedroom and corridor were decorated with shiny hard flooring, bright chandeliers and curtains that resembled those in a luxurious hotel suite.
She also confided that Ryu was stressed by rumors that he had approached her for money.
“If he did, he wouldn’t have face-chatted me for three hours every day when I was working in China,” Mina said, expressing her faith in Ryu.

Mina cheers during the Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup in 2002
Mina became popular in 2002 when revealing photos of her cheering during the Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup were widely spread. She had covered her breasts with a uniform of the Red Devils ― South Korean footballers’ official cheer squad ― and wrapped a South Korean flag over her blue hot pants.
Mina debuted as a singer the same year and has been working in Korea and China.
