K-pop girl band AOA was voted favorite by soldiers. / Yonhap

The nation’s soldiers have voted K-pop girl band AOA their favorite, Yonhap reported Friday.

The Army surveyed 1,500 soldiers in 15 frontline and home fronts over which girl bands they liked most, and the largest number, 327 (21.8 percent), voted for AOA.

The second favorite was Girl’s Day, who received 239 votes, or 15.9 percent, followed by new group Red Velvet with 139 votes.

Girls’ Generation was fourth with 135 votes; Apink fifth with 125 and EXID sixth with 120.

Among group members, the soldiers voted Seolhyun of AOA the one they would like to be their girlfriend.
