Kang Ji-young
Former K-pop girl band KARA member Kang Ji-young is returning to Korea with her Japanese debut film “Assassination Classroom.” Kang plays “Irina Jelavic" a professional killer sent as a teacher to kill “Koro Sensei.”
Kang appeared at a news conference for the film held in Lotte Cinema World Tower in Jamsil, Seoul, Monday.
“I will come back and do my best if I can find good work in Korea,” she said.
Asked about her time in Japan, she said the year there had been very long and lonely.
She said her family and friends had helped and that she had learned a lot to help her grow as an actor.
“Assassination Classroom” will open in Korea on Aug. 27.
Kang and Nicole left KARA last year. The girl band is now comprised of Park Gyu-ri, Han Seung-yeon, Goo Hara and Heo Young-ji.
