Actress reveals marriage troubles on TV

Actress and singer Lee Jae-eun’s revelations about her troubled marriage have surprised TV viewers.

Lee, 35, has been married for almost 10 years to Korean traditional dance professor Lee Kyeong-soo, 45, who taught her.

The star appeared on

TV reality show “SBS Special” on Sunday with her husband. In the show, which featured several married couples on the verge of divorce, the couple were asked to pretend to go through the divorce process.

Professor Lee handed his wife a divorce agreement form, saying: “I want to rediscover you, whom I first met, dated and loved.” Receiving the form, the actress, who reportedly became extremely introverted during her marriage, according to media reports Monday, seemed confounded.

“After 10 years, we had nothing to talk about,” Lee said on the show. “We just stare at mobile phones when we are together. I think the reason is us not having a child.”

Lee, who debuted aged five in TV series “Land” on KBS in 1986, added: “I had worked since I was young, so I didn’t want to do anything after getting married. But I gradually became less confident as my life progressed. I feel so listless.”
