A mobile game featuring hallyu star Kim Soo-hyun will be released on the Chinese market, Kim’s agency Keyeast said Monday.

The entertainment agency announced that China’s Chukong Technologies will create the game based on the contents provided by Keyeast, who will make a joint investment and promote the product with online shopping mall pandakorea.com. The product is expected to launch by the end of this year.

The mobile game will feature Kim as character in the game to be fed and looked after by the players. Products related to the character in the game will also be manufactured and sold.

Chukong Technologies is the developer of Cocos2d-x, the game engine that is used to build games and apps, which takes up 70 percent of the Chinese game engine market. The company developed mobile game “fishing joy” that has been downloaded by more than a billion times in China and has over 100 million users a day.

Haozhi Chen, CEO and co-founder of ChuKong Technologies, said that he plans to establish a new hallyu culture with this project and make the game more accessible to users.

Games featuring celebrities are now a major trend after Hollywood socialite Kim Kardashian made over 200 billion won ($177 million) last year from a game that featured her as the main character.
