Kingsman surpasses 4 million mark

Hollywood blockbuster “Kingsman: The Secret Service” surpassed the 4 million mark Sunday, according to its distributor 20th Century Fox Korea.

The record comes 26 days since it was released on Feb. 11. It remains top of the box office since Feb. 23 and is the longest lasting movie this year to occupy the first place in the chart.

Kingsman is the first foreign R-rated film to surpass the 3 million audience mark. It broke the record of “300” released in 2007 which attracted 2.9 million ticket buyers. So far, there had been only two films that surpassed the 2 million mark as R-rated foreign films ― “300” and “Taken 2” (2012) which attracted 2.3 million.

Kingsman is a spy action comedy film directed by Matthew Vaughn, based on the comic book “The Secret Service” where an aimless unemployed young man becomes a secret service agent through intense training.
