‘Grandpas over Flowers’ hits Greece

“Grandpas over Flowers,” a cable network tvN’s reality-travel show starring actors in their 70s travelling around world, will travel to Greece this time, the show’s producer Na Young-seok said, Monday.

“The crew members have already finished on-site survey. The actors will leave for Greece this weekend,” Na said.

Na added that they changed their travel destination from Jordan to Greece as many were concerned about safety problem in Middle East area.

Comprised of veteran actors including Baek Il-seob, Shin Goo, Lee Soon-jae, Park Geun-hyung and 44-year-old actor Lee Seo-jin as their travel guide, the show follows their global backpacking travels in France, Swiss, Taiwan and Spain.

Their trip to Greece will be broadcasted in March.

Toymakers export $3 mil. at int’l fair

Korean toymakers have earned $3 million worth of export contracts at an international toy fair held in Germany, the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), an affiliate organization of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, announced Monday.

The annual fair, called “Spielwarenmesse,” was held in Nuremberg from Jan. 27 to Feb. 2. It is the world’s largest exhibition related to toy products, featuring more than a million toys.

The KOCCA said it helped set up “Korea booth” together with five local toymakers -- Roi Visual, Young Toys, Synergy Media, VM pictures and ClawsUp during the exposition period.

The KOCCA added “Robocar Poli,” a local animation created by Roi Visual, was a bit hit among home-grown toys at the fair. Roi Visual signed with companies based in European countries such as Russia, Turkey and Greece.

K-pop icon Seo Tai-ji to hold concerts

K-pop icon Seo Tai-ji, 42, will hold concerts at SK Handball Stadium in southern Seoul on Feb. 28 and March 1, Seo Taiji Company announced on Monday.

The former leader of disbanded idol band Seo Taiji & Boys made a comeback last fall, releasing his ninth studio album “Quiet Night” that includes hit singles “Sogyeokdong” and “Christmalo.win.”

During New Year’s holiday season, he launched nationwide tour, performing in major cities including Seoul, Gwangju, Daegu and Busan.

In his encore concert, he will perform songs from his new albums, as well as perform some hit numbers of Seo Taiji & Boys such as “Last Festival,” “Through the Eyes of Children” and “Certain Victory.”
