It’s still chilly but the daylight hours are beginning to lengthen, heralding that winter might soon make way for spring.

Spring is a popular season when many young couples make wedding plans.

For those seeking venues that are both classic and contemporary, the Lotte Hotel Seoul Wedding has taken on a new style for 2014 with stylist Jung Yun-ki.

Jung is a famous celebrity fashion stylist who has worked with top Korean celebrities including actors Kim Hee-ae, Jun Ji-hyun, Jung Woo-sung, Lee Jung-jae and Ha Ji-won in styling and fashion. He recently made a cameo appearance on Jun’s drama “Man from the Stars.”

Close friends with actors Ko So-young and Jang Dong-gun, he coordinated their 2010 wedding. He also planned the weddings of other celebrities such as Yoo Ji-tae and Kim Hyo-jin and more recently, Ji Sung and Lee Bo-young, who married in late 2013.

Taking that experience, Jung has now joined hands with Lotte Hotel to propose a new style for the Korean wedding market and party culture, starting with a wedding show.

Throughout this year, Jung will be the wedding consultant for the Lotte Hotel Seoul Wedding, planning wedding shows and running a boutique lounge.

His first presentation will be the “Becoming Dream with YK Jung Wedding Show” to be held on Feb. 12 at the hotel’s Crystal Ballroom in Sogong-dong, downtown Seoul.

The show is divided into two parts; the first will be at 2 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. The wedding show will present new wedding concepts for 2014. This event will stage a wedding dress show, jewelry exhibition and a prize draw that gives away vouchers for hotel stays and dining.

In addition, the Lotte Hotel Seoul offers a “Smart Wedding Promotion” for couples dreaming of a smaller sized wedding at a reasonable price.

The promotion will be available in July and August of 2014 on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and on Sundays. Wedding guests will be limited to between 40 and 100. The wedding menu will consist of authentic French food served with wine. The hotel will provide flower decorations, wedding cake, champagne, a complimentary stay in the hotel room on the night of the wedding, breakfast for two, and a free wedding menu tasting for two. All this will be included for 100,000 won per person (VAT and service charge inclusive).
