LCD Soundsystem

‘This is Happening’

(WARNERMUSIC KOREA)

James Murphy returns to the scene, breaking down the barriers of retro punk, rock, pop and dance with his raw vocals and synth beats. The man behind LCD Soundsystem works as a producer, mixer and musician - and co-founder of DFA Records - having worked with the likes of pop queen Britney Spears, Le Tigre and Nike.

Murphy’s third album melds classic genres colored with a decidedly (post-)modern twist with some near-spoken tracks like “Pow Pow,” and the selfreferential and aware “You Wanted a Hit.” Nearly every track has something to offer listeners, with the surprisingly emotional “Dance Yrself Clean” opening the release with a particularly smooth orchestration that culminates in ultimate danceability and that heartbreakingly raw voice.

Oasis ‘Time Flies’

(SONYMUSIC KOREA)

Oasis returns to their public one last time with this commemorative 27-track, 2- disc compilation of their singles and greatest hits over their 15-year history. Though disbanded for a year, the British sensation continues to live on in fame today, particularly among their fans in Korea, and this retrospective is sure to satiate them.

From the iconic “Wonderwall” to “Live Forever,” the release is accompanied with photos from past live shows, song lyrics and blurbs from critics as well as Noel Gallagher. A deluxe version of the collection comes with a special DVD.

Pet Shop Boys ‘Pandemonium’

Nearing their third decade of activity, the quirky Pet Shop Boys are continuing to make their way around the world. In this DVD/CD release that captured the duo’s live show in their hometown of London in December 2009, a stage features large multi-colored blocks of lights and matching masks for the pair.

The release features everything from their classic “West End Girls” (1984) to the more recent 2009 hit “Did You See Me Coming?” While the DVD captures the glamour of the performance, a separately remixed CD brings another sound for the diehard. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will be at the 2010 Jisan Vallery Rock Festival that runs July 30 to Aug. 1 in Korea.
